‘A comprehensive introduction to Vehicle Systems Forensics’
Vehicle Systems Forensics is often described as ‘Telematics’ however there is so much more to it than this one topic. In this module we scratch under the surface to introduce you to a variety of identified systems which are explained and defined to give a better understanding of their differences, their functionality and how they interface into the whole vehicle eco system.
This introductory module looks at the whole vehicle eco system and outlines the various systems that can be considered for useful investigative data.
This course will allow delegates to be able to define the various systems, identify what data types are available, where they may be obtained from and what tools and techniques, they may need to obtain the data.
The formulation of a VSF strategy will be explained, together with the reason of its importance in laying down the foundations of the whole process of this activity to create a robust evidential product for any investigation. Delegates will be sign-posted to resources, enabling them to formulate their own VSF strategies for use in their future examinations.
Module one concludes with the commencement of a case study for those people wishing to undertake further self-development as they progress through Modules 2, 3 & 4.

We are building a triage area within The Vehicle Network App. This resource comes automatically with our module one training course held within the app. It allows investigators to see the resources available to plan for a Vehicle Systems Forensics examination and puts useful documents like the Bosch CDR supported vehicle list all into one place.
Furthermore we are putting all the details of vehicle infotainment head units we have non destructive solutions for outside of the currently Berla supported units so again investigators can see where there are other available solutions. If you are law enforcement and require access please email info@harpershaw.co.uk as we can facilitate access to this as a standalone resource.
